CLEMENT, Marie (nee Lemieux) - In loving memory of Marie (nee Lemieux) Clement, 89 years. “A mother holds her children's hands for just a little while . . . their hearts forever.“ It is with loving hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother on Feb. 26 at the age of 89. She has gone to be with her husband and best friend, Aurele (predeceased 1998). Dear daughter of Fred and Mathilda Lemieux (both predeceased). Loving mother of Norman (wife Yolande) of Val Caron, Rachel Corbett (husband Ray) of Garson, and Louise MacDonald (husband Grant) of Waterloo. Cherished Mémère of Natalie Clement, Chantal Terry (Paul), Renée Corbett-Floyd (Travis), Steve Corbett (Melissa), Mark MacDonald (Diana Bent), Paul MacDonald (Brittany), and Alyssa MacDonald (Kale). Special Grand-Mémère of Ashton Floyd. Her family was her pride and joy. Dear sister of Lucia Clement (Leo), Wilfred Lemieux (Kaye), Margaret Dubuc (Paul), Dora Martel (Fred), Rita Thompson (Ken), and Robert Lemieux (all predeceased). Survived by one sister-in-law Suzette Philippe and many loving nieces and nephews. Marie was born in Massey but grew up in Sudbury. She married Aurele in 1949 and they moved to Lively in 1953. Since then she had been a dedicated parishioner of St. Pius X church where she was a member of the CWL. In her younger days, she enjoyed skiing, skating, snowshoeing, and bowling. She also loved to sew, knit, crochet, and bake. Her summers were spent gardening and blueberry picking at the camp on the Wahnapitae River. She had been a member of the Ottawa Valley Club. She and Aurele were also volunteers for Meals on Wheels. The last 13 years she had resided at the Meadowbrook apartments. Here she met many new friends and was an active participant in most of the social events. During her last days she continued to be an avid card player with her family. You are invited to join her family in “celebrating her life“ at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME at 233 Larch Street, Sudbury on Friday March 1st from 2:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM. and after 10am. on Saturday. The funeral service will be held in the R. J. Barnard Chapel on Saturday March 2nd at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Maison Vale Hospice.
