est décédé, entouré de sa famille au Health Science North/Horizon Santé-Nord, vendredi 18 avril 2014 à l’âge de 92 ans. Il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants Roland (Annette Dallaire), Roger (Denise Dallaire), Marie (feu Gaetan Lafrenière), Clotilde (René Parent), sa première épouse (feu Madeleine Pelchat) et son épouse Dolores Joly ainsi que ses enfants Donna (Rick Cusson) , Rick Gallino (Rosemary Vierimaa), Joanne (Micheal Kirkwood) et leur famille. Cher grand papa d’Éric, Marylène, Natalie, Alexandre, Frédéric, Isabelle, Martine, Dominic, Isabelle, Casia, ainsi que leurs conjoints. Arrière grand papa d’11 enfants. Né le 8 mars 1922 à Inverness, Québec, il était l’ainé d’11 enfants. Tout au long de sa vie, il fut un homme d’affaire déterminé et son plus grand succès fut probablement sa compagnie de bois « Portelance Lumber », achetée en 1962, située à Hanmer. Il était très fière de voir, une fois à la retraite en 1986, que cette compagnie continua à prospérer sous la direction de son fils ainé. Il adorait la chasse à l’orignal et ses hivers en Floride ou il faisait parti du « Club de Shuffleboard d’Hollywood » et y excellait. Nous tenons à remercier sincèrement l’Équipe de soins de santé du 4ième sud ainsi que du 4ième nord d’Horizon Santé Nord pour les soins dépareillés prodigués à notre père. Toutes marques de sympathie peuvent se traduire par des dons (par chèque seulement) à la Fondation du Rein Canada – Division Ontario ou le département de soins palliatifs du HRSRH 4ième étage (tour nord). La famille recevra parents et amis au salon de la Coopérative Funéraire situé au 4570 St Joseph à Hanmer, le lundi 21 avril de 14h à 17h et de 19h-21h. Service funéraire à la chapelle du salon le mardi 22 avril à 11h. Passed away surrounded by his family at the palliative care unit (HSN 4th floor) on Friday, April 18, 2014 at the age of 92. He will be sadly missed by his children Roland (Annette Dallaire), Roger (Denise Dallaire), Marie (late Gaetan Lafrenière) Clotilde (René Parent) and his first wife (late Madeleine Pelchat). Will be remembered by his wife Dolores Jolly, her three children, Donna (Rick Cusson), Rick Gallino (Rosemary Vierimaa), Joanne (Micheal Kirkwood) and their families. Loving grandfather of Eric, Marylène, Natalie, Alexandre, Frédéric, Isabelle, Martine, Dominic, Isabelle, Casia and their families. Fortunate to be a great grand father of 11. Born March 8, 1922 in Inverness, Québec, Louis was a determined and very hard working businessman. One of his most successful endeavour was the purchase in 1962 of his lumber company « Portelance Lumber » situated in Hanmer. Upon retirement, he was very proud to see that his company would continue to prosper in the hands of his oldest son. Once retired, he enjoyed moose hunting and loved spending his winters in Florida where he had joined the « Hollywood Shuffleboard Club » and was recognised as an excellent player. At this time, the family would like to take the opportunity to sincerely thank the staff at Health Sciences North orthopaedic dept. on 4th floor (South Tower) as well as the Palliative Care Unit on 4th floor (North Tower) for the outstanding and compassionate care they provided for our father. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation (by cheque only) to the Canadian Kidney Foundation-Ontario Division or to the Health Sciences North Palliative Care Unit, 4th floor (North Tower). Family will be receiving relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home at 4570 St Joseph in Hanmer on Monday April 21, 2014 from 2 :00-5 :00 pm and from 7 :00-9 :00 pm. Funeral services will be in chapel at the funeral home Tuesday April 22 at 11:00.
