The family announces with great sorrow his passing in Sturgeon Falls on Monday, April 21st, 2014 at the age of 78 years. Beloved husband of Julienne Bertha Boucher (née Gravel) of Sturgeon Falls. Survived by his father Alfred Gignac of Sudbury and predeceased by his mother Marie Gignac (née Régina). Loving father of Georgette MacDonald (Allan) of Sudbury, Lorraine Deforge (Chris) of St-Charles, Lucienne Bazinet (Gord) of Naughton, Angèle Lachance (Guy) of Cache Bay, Bruno (Jeannine) of Kelowna, B.C. and Gérard (Julie) of Cache Bay. Loving step-father of Ronald (late Connie), Robert (Susan) and Roger (Darleen) all of Hamilton, Richard (Lani) of Toronto and Sylvie Nardi (late Robert) of Hamilton. Predeceased by his step-daughter Nicole Bedard (Raymond of Hagar). Dear brother of Gary Gignac (Claire) of Sudbury, Billy Wagner (Rita) of Sault Ste-Marie, Gerry Moore of Niagara Falls and Jack Gignac of Sudbury. Predeceased by his brothers Roy Gignac (Cécile of Hanmer), Hector Beaudry and Noël Beaudry. Sadly missed by 28 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and by the Whissell family. Predeceased by 1 great-grandchild. Roland was a former Volunteer Fireman in St-Charles. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Thursday, April 24th, 2014 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, Sudbury. In lieu of flowers, donations (by cheque only) to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Liver Foundation would be appreciated.
