SHARKO, M. Kornel

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Kornel Mike Sharko, peacefully at the Ramsey Lake Heath Centre, on April 23, 2014, at the age of 83. Dear son of the late Matwij (Mike) and Emelia Puszkarenko (Sharko). Beloved husband of Sandra (nee Fedora) for 43 years, loving father of Natasha and Leisha (partner Milan Jelenic), and adored Dido of Zakary. Kornel worked as a surveyor and cost analyst and retired from INCO in 1986. He loved all sports, music, gardening and was a gifted conversationalist. Kornel fundraised for many groups in the Sudbury area and is especially known for his participation in the Garlic Festival. He will be sadly missed by his extended family and good friends. Heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses and support staff at the Ramsey Lake Health Centre and Cancer Centre for their care and kindness. Donations in Mike’s memory may be made to the Ukranian Senior’s Centre, Sudbury. A memorial celebration will be announced at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home.
