It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Josette Gauthier on June 8th 2014, at St-Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto, at the age of 52, with her loving family by her side. Born in Sudbury, Onario, Josette was the eldest daughter of the late Réo Gauthier and of Marianne Gauthier (née Lanthier), dear sister of Manon (Steve), Bruno (Kelly) and Caroline, and greatly loved by her nephews Jérémie, Ramsey, Xavier, Nico and Costa. Josette held an Honours B. A. in Economics from Laurentian University and was a graduate of the Advanced Human Resources Executive Program from the University of Michigan. She also graduated from the International Organizational Systems Development Program of Gestalt Institute and from the J. Mack Robinson College of Business of Georgia State University and GA Tech Center for International Business Education and Research. During the course of almost 30 years experience in Canada and the U. S. in retail banking management, Josette held senior management positions with the Royal Bank of Canada, prior to joining Alterna Savings as Senior Vice President of Human Resources. She was the President and CEO of Azion, LLC. Josette strongly valued mentoring and graciously shared her expertise with all her colleagues. She knew how to make everyone shine. As well as sitting on the Advisory Board of the Chief Human Resources Officer Roundtable in Ottawa, and being one of the first of five Canadians named to Filene Research Institute’s i3 team, Josette also participated as an Advisory Board Member of the Georgia Tech Centre for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) in Atlanta. She was affiliated with numerous organizations including the Toronto Board of Trade and the International Affiliates of the Gestalt Institute, covering Barcelona, Toronto, Singapore, Budapest and Ireland. In her spare time, Josette loved contemporary dance and showered her loved ones with attention and gifts. She was highly respected by those who knew her and was an inspiration of hope to all of us. She always lived her life with grace and dignity and has left us in the same manner. Josette will be missed dearly forever. A private service at the cemetery will follow at a later date. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Cooperative Funeral Home, Sudbury.
