BENOIT, Wilfrid

The family announces with great sorrow his passing in Sudbury on Tuesday, July 22nd, 2014 at the age of 86 years. Predeceased by his first wife Marthe Benoit (née Laplante). Beloved husband of Edna (née Gosselin) Hotte-Benoit of Sudbury. Son of the late Albert and of the late Sophie (née Brideau) Benoit. Loving father of Fernand (Suzanne), Marcel (Eleonore) and Claude. Sadly missed by his brother Alvin and his sister Marie-Alberte Maher (Allan). Predeceased by his sister Lina Frohmader and Donald (Rita). Dear half-brother of Lauréat LeBreton, Clermont LeBreton (Monique), Laurie LeBreton (Brigitte), Carmen Losier (Robert) and Jocelyne LeBreton. Cherished grandfather of Martin Benoit (Lana), Louise Benoit-Goggin (Jamie) and great-grandfather of Leah, Samuel, Maya and Katie. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Wilfrid was a Volunteer for both the Regional Hospital and Canadian Cancer Society. His sense of humor will be missed dearly. Wilfrid was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 3rd degree Council 8360 and 4th degree Assembly Mgr. Roger Despatie. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Saturday, July 26th, 2014 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. at L’Annonciation Church, Sudbury. Donations (by cheque only) to Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto would be appreciated.
