CHARBONNEAU, Raymond

It is with deep sadness that the family announces Raymond’s passing in Sudbury on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at the age of 80 years. Son of the late Donat and the late Florida (née Dupuis) Charbonneau. Predeceased by his wife Jeanne D’Arc (née Furoy) Charbonneau in 2001. Loving father of Suzanne Shelswell (Gerry), Denise Charbonneau (Frank Fabian) and Nicole Bérubé (Terry). Cherished grandfather of Angela, Ashley (Phil), Melissa and Steven. Dear brother of Armand (Lucille), Roger (Evelyne), Rhéal (Yogie), Dolorèse Jeckel (Pete), Germaine Desgroseillers (Richard) and Marie-Jeanne Racette (late Ghislain, friend Raymond). Predeceased by his sister Raymonde Predon (late Joe). Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Mr. Charbonneau owned and operated Valley View Farms for 27 years, previously located across the Hanmer Valley Plaza. Raymond was exceptionally selfless and a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He was also an avid hockey fan and enjoyed reading, fishing and gardening. The family would like to acknowledge the compassionate care provided to their Father by the nurses and doctors of the 3rd and 4th floors of Health Sciences North. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 4570 St-Joseph Street, Hanmer on Friday, July 25th, 2014 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Paroisse Ste-Marguerite d’Youville Church, Val Thérèse. As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to the Northern Cancer Foundation (by cheque only) or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
