Bonar Kenneth Carmichael 88, of Sudbury, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family.  Bonnie was preceded in death by his loving wife Muriel (Chalmers), his son Ian Bonar  Carmichael and granddaughter Britney. Bonnie served in the Army during World War II.  He was a miner for INCO at Creighton Mine  for 34 years retiring in 1984.  He loved his camp on Cranberry Lake, fishing, playing horse shoes and a good game of cards. A loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, he will be sadly missed by his four daughters, Karen (Lorne) Veters of Ottawa, Cathy (Pat) Drysdale of Calgary, Heidi Carmichael (Michel Proulx) of Sudbury and Sue-Ellen (Ken) Fram of  Wahnapitae, nine grandchildren Neil (Marsha), Daren (Sylvie), Daryl (Lea), Jeff (Chrystal), Shannon (Tyler), Ken (Sarah), Kyle, Keith and Kevin, nine great grand children, Nathan, Mackenzie, Brody, William, Breanna, Luke, Emily, Evan and Sophia, sister Doreen (Lloyd) Robinson of Brampton, brother Edwin (Joyce) of Lively, sister-in-law Joyce Carmichael of Bathurst, and Avis Carmichael of Archibald Settlement, sister-in-law Mary Eva (Erwin) Smearer of Belledune, James (Sally) Chalmers of Wiarton, niece Carol Smearer of Miramichi, and his many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his wife of 53 years and his parents late Danny and Eveline (MacLean) Carmichael he was predeceased by his sisters Beatrice (late Henry) Ready, Velma (late Buzz) MacDonald, baby sister Verna Shirley and brothers Bill (Cora), Donald (late Kay), Bert and John.
