TRAVERSO, Simone 'Sam' (Giroux)

In Loving Memory of Simone (SAM) Traverso (nee Giroux) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Simone Traverso on Wednesday, July 30th, 2014, at the age of 79, surrounded by her loving family at Health Sciences North. Beloved wife and soulmate of Guiliano Traverso. Loving mother of Jo-Anne (husband Rolly Albert Jr.), Lisa (husband Luc Vaillancourt), Predeceased by son Gary Belanger (2004). Cherished and much loved NANA of Valerie, Alex, Paige, Joshua, and Jessica. Daughter of Paul and Albertine Giroux both predeceased. Loving sister of Laurie (husband Willi Beier), Angie (husband Frank Piro) both deceased and Marie Perih. Loving remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mom was born in Hanmer on April 4th, 1935. She lived a wonderful life filled with family and friends. In her younger days she was devoted Scout Leader. She was well known for her fantastic baking and cooking. Mom loved to knit and crochet donating many little hats and mittens for the hospital preemies. A member of the Loyal Order of Moose. But most and foremost her pride and joy were her family. A lover of life with a great sense of humour. A person whom you would meet and never forget. Always willing to lend a hand. She now joins the family circle. We cannot express how much she was loved and will be missed. Many thanks to the fantastic nurses on the 8th floor who cared for Mom. A celebration of Simone’s life at St. Patrick’s Church, 39 Walford Road on Friday, August 1st, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation with interment at her beloved River Valley.
