COLOMBO, P. Ofelia (Uguccioni)

Ofelia Colombo, 88, passed peacefully at Creekway Village Long-term Care Home on Thursday, August 14, 2014. Ofelia was predeceased in 2008 by her loving husband of 45 years; Francesco Colombo. Ofelia will be missed and never forgotten by her family, daughter, Francesca (Gord) of Burlington and son, Giovanni of Toronto. Her memory will be cherished by her two grandchildren Dean and Chelsea, whom she loved very much. Ofelia was born in Tavernelle, Italy on April 24, 1926 and immigrated to Sudbury, Ontario in 1961. She was introduced to her husband through great friends and married. She established herself in the community and fulfilled her dream of having a family. In 2005, Ofelia and Francesco moved from Sudbury to Burlington to be close to her children. For the past 4 years she has resided at Creekway Village Long-term Care home where she was loved and well care for by an amazing staff. We have been so blessed to have this wonderful woman in our life! Resting at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch St., Sudbury (Friends may call 2-5; 7-9pm Monday with parish prayers 3pm Monday). Funeral Mass in St. Andrew the Apostle Church 1250 Barrydowne Road, Sudbury Tuesday, August 19th, 2014 At 10am. Entombment in the Sudbury Roman Catholic Cemetery.
