CECCHETTO, Monica (Blais)

In loving memory of Monica Cecchetto 90 years, who passed away peacefully in Sudbury, Ontario August 20th 2014 Beloved wife of Guido (predeceased 1991). Loving Mother of Ronald (Marion), George (Catherine predeceased 2003), Raymond predeceased 2009, Allan (Chris) and Keith (Kim), cherished Noni to ten grandchildren: Debbie, Donna (Fred), Joey, David (Nancy), Angelene (Ken), Wayne (Candice), Jason, Dawne, Melissa (Arjet), Nikki and twelve great-grandchildren. Monica was born in the tiny village of Chapeau, Quebec to Simon and Hanna Blais January 14, 1924; she was one of eleven children. Dear sister of Edna Bertrand and predeceased by Joseph Blais, Herbert Blais, Harold Blais, Beatrice Petit, Irene Gaudette, Violet Geoffrey, Margaret Teddy, Gladys Piccolo, and Eric Blais. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. In November of 1942 she married Guido Cecchetto in Gatchell, Ontario, and they would live their life together in Little Italy, Copper Cliff. In her later years she moved into the Walford on the Park in Copper Cliff and then Finlandia. Monica was never one to sit still for very long, for many years she worked for Taylor Atlas, a cleaning company, as a Supervisor in charge of the then INCO offices, and then later at PLAZA 69. On top of this she spent many years as the President of the Ladies society of Copper Cliff Italian club as well as an executive member. We will keep you close to our hearts and think of you fondly with the comforting thought you are still keeping watch over all of us, this time from above. Resting at the Lougheed Funeral Home, 252 Regent St., Sudbury (From 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM Friday). Funeral prayers in the Chapel on Saturday August 23rd, 2014 at 10 AM. Interment at the St Stanislaus Cemetery. Memorial donations to the HSN Heart Equipment Fund or Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
