HARPER, Vince

In Loving Memory of Vince Harper  Who passed away in Sudbury on Thursday August 28th, 2014.  Beloved Son of Christina Turner Harper (predeceased) and Vernon Harper (Jerrilynn).  Loving father of Debbie Kent, Leslie Trudeau (predeceased), Leonard Trudeau and Andrew Johnston.  Cherished grandfather of 3 grandchildren. Dear brother of Richard Turner Harper (predeceased), Gloria Harper (predeceased), Vernon Jr. Harper (predeceased), Susan Harper, Deanna Sheridan (Erick), Luanna Harper (Scott), Clayton Shirt (Linda), Ted Harper (Valentina), Les Harper, Carly Clark (Bo), and Cotee Christina Harper (Theo). Vincent was born during a snow storm on November 30th, 1958 in Saskatchewan, belonging to the Mistawasis Plains Cree Nation.  Delivered by his Kookum (grandmother) Jesse Turner with his father Vernon standing by Christina Turner Harper while she  gave birth during a thunder and lightning winter storm, where he was born.  A wild rose bush now grows, and nowhere else in that area.  As our family recognized Vincent’s passing the Thunder and lightning rang above reminding us a special human being is leaving the earth.  In old understanding amongst nations of turtle Island (North America). The West Door (Manitoulin Island), a powerful and sacred place, Vincent will be taken there as he Journeys home to the spirit world.    Resting at The Lougheed Funeral Home 252 Regent St. At Hazel Friends May Call Friday September 5th, 2014  from 2-5 and 7-9.  Funeral Prayers in The Lougheed Chapel Saturday September 6, 2014 at 10 AM Cremation to Follow  Donations to the Leonard Trudeau Trust Fund would be greatly appreciated.  Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home Sudbury.
