In Loving Memory of Ronald Glenn MacDonald 82 years Friday, September 12th, 2014 at the Maison Vale Hospice.  Beloved husband of Jacqueline (Newstead) MacDonald. Loving father of Bruce (Lisa), Brad (Carrie), and Brent (Nancy). Cherished grandfather of Kirk, Shelby, and Lauren. Dear son of Rory and Edith MacDonald both deceased. Dear brother of Margaret Pollock (Ken deceased), Jack (Jean) both deceased, Noline Sheppard (Bud) both deceased, Jim, Marion Newstead (Bunny) both deceased, Katie Kettlewell (Bill), Bud (Joan), Laurine MacQueen deceased (Murray), Doris Frederick (Bob), Lorne (Karen), Judi Grieve (John), Janice, Allan deceased (Linda), and stepsisters Ellen (Eric) and Rhoda (Hub) all deceased.  Ron worked at INCO for many years, he served as a steward, chief steward, Vice President and was a 2-term President of USWA Local 6500. He dedicated his life to being a community champion. Ron was a founder and/or an active board member of many Sudbury groups, including the United Way, the Cancer Center Foundation and Board, Cambrian College, Norcat, Laurentian University, Health Sciences North, Science North, the Transition Board, Social Services Committee as well as serving as a city councillor. A fit and avid sports fan, he could easily be found jogging, or in the gym, or in his arm chair rooting for his favourite teams. He was a proud Sudburian, a proud union member, and a proud husband, father, and grandfather.  Funeral Visitation at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch St., Sudbury (Friends may call 4-8pm Tuesday) Funeral Service in the Church of the Epiphany 85 Larch St., Sudbury Wednesday, September 17th, 2014 at 11am. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to the NCF Cancer Center would be appreciated.
