MELANSON, M. Adèle (Bertrand)

In Loving Memory of Adèle M. Melanson (nee Bertrand) 86 years  Peacefully, Wednesday morning, September 17th, 2014  at Extendicare-York, Sudbury.  Beloved wife of Adolph Melanson predeceased 1994.  Loving mother of Jeanne (husband Bob Lachance), Yvon (wife Lyne Lafrenière predeceased), and Gisèle (husband Alain Raymond). Cherished Memère of Robert (June Lachance), Justin (Kristel Liinamaa), & Joëlle Lachance (Jacques Ousman),  Sophie Melanson,  Christel Melanson, and great grandchildren Emmereace, Maddyson, Noah, Alexander, and Jaxson.   Dear daughter of Nunzio and Esthel (Cyr) Bertrand both predeceased.  Dear sister of Edna (husband Albert Hamilton), Léa (husband Gerard Lariviere), Aline (husband Edward Leblanc), Palma, wife Diane both predeceased, Eugene predeceased (wife Pearl) and Leger and Albini both predeceased. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Adèle was a very sociable lady and during her time at Extendicare York she was well known for her knitting, painting, and blanket making  which she often donated to their annual teas.  With her keen eye she took many wonderful photos.   A talented musician she was gifted in playing the piano, organ, accordion and the guitar. Her wonderful voice often accompanied her playing. Even during her illness, Adèle loved Bingo and playing cards, and she will be greatly missed by her card partner and close friend Larry St. Michel.  A former member of the group Joie de Vivre, le Nouveau Regard and the Colombiettes.  Her family was very important and she always kept in touch with old friends. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Elize, Bonnie, Amy, Julien and Terry and all other staff on the 6th floor at Extendicare York for all of their care of Adèle over the past two years.   Resting at the Lougheed Funeral Home, 252 Regent St. at Hazel Street (Friends may call 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Friday)  Funeral Mass in Ste. Anne des Pins 14 Beech St. Sudbury on Saturday, September 20th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.  Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to the Adele Melanson Trust Fund or to the Asthma Clinic out of HSN would be appreciated.
