In Loving Memory of Gerald Everett Goddard Passed away peacefully Monday September 22nd, 2014 at Finlandia with loving family at his side, in his 90th year.  Beloved husband of Joan Goddard (nee Burden) of 55 years. Loving father of Joanne Thompson of Toronto, Carolyn Goddard (husband Bert Bongers) of Bracebridge, Barbara Goddard of Vancouver, Geraldine Townend (husband John) of Sudbury and Jennifer Keturi (husband Kevin) of Copper Cliff. Cherished grandfather of Emily and Gillian Townend; Matthew Bongers; Katie and Sarah Thompson and Allison and Lauren Keturi. He then joined his father in Goddard’s Appliance Centre in 1946. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club, and he was a proud and dedicated Chair of the Easter Seals Committee, truly living the Rotary motto “Service above self”. He was one of the founders of the Easter Seals Children’s Clinics held here in Sudbury, helping to coordinate the doctors’ visits. Jerry was active in St. Andrew’s United Church in many capacities, since he was a teenager, including the Building Committee of the new church and serving as Treasurer. He was a member of the Manitoulin North Shore Navy. Jerry loved his camp at Killarney, where hunting and fishing were allowed before it was designated as a Provincial Park. He enjoyed bringing his five daughters up in the wilderness, camping and learning lessons of safety and survival.
