LACELLE, M. Ethel (Kerr)

In loving memory of Ethel Mae Lacelle (nee Kerr), with sadness, the family announces her death, on Friday, September 26th, 2014 at the age of 89 years. The daughter of Ethel and Andrew Kerr, Ethel Mae was born and raised in Sudbury. She is predeceased by her brothers James, Andrew, Robert, Walter and Arthur Kerr and her sister Jean Sweezey Laberge. Ethel was happily married to Gerry Lacelle for 43 years before his death in 2001. Ethel is also predeceased by her daughter, Jean Nietzert.  Ethel was a veteran of the Second World War and a long-time member of the Eastern Star. She earned a BA in Native Studies and was awarded an Honorary Fellowship by the University of Sudbury. Ethel worked as the Treasurer of the University of Sudbury for many years, as well as for the Jesuit Fathers at Villa Loyola in Sudbury. Ethel is survived by her step-daughter Norma Lacelle (Ron), niece Dorothy McDonald (Paul), grandchildren Cathy Wetzl (Matt), Laurie Leclair (Brent), Monica Nietzert, Wanda Seabrook, Richard Beaugrand and Christina Beaugrand-Berman. Ethel is also survived by many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, great nieces and great nephews. Cremation with private interment Saturday, October 11th, 2014. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
