DIXON, Robert 'Bob'

In Loving Memory of Robert “Bob” Dixon 78 years Peacefully, Wednesday, October 8th, 2014 at Health Sciences North with loving family at his side.  Beloved husband of Betty Ann (MacMillan) Dixon. Loving father of Debra (husband Stephen Goode), Elizabeth (husband Leo Frappier), Bruce (wife Sharon) and Barbara (husband Brad Colden). Cherished grandfather of Janet (Mark), Christopher (Jessie), Robert (Christie), Eric, Katie, Renée (Pat), Kyle, Curtis, Kayla (Joey) and great grandchildren Anysha, Matthew, Faith, Connor, Mayson and Blake. Dear son of Harold and Pearl (Brown) Dixon predeceased. Dear brother of Reynold (wife Marg) both predeceased, Clarence and Clifford predeceased (wife Donna). Special brother in law of Lionel MacMillan predeceased (wife Ethel), Myrle MacMillan predeceased (wife Pat), Pat Nolan (husband Paul predeceased) and Heather Furlani (husband Ray). Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.  A life long resident of Sudbury, Bob owned and operated D&L Electric and Northern Power Control Systems retiring in 2007. He was an avid pilot having served as President of Flight 13 Flying Club. Well respected within his industry, Bob was a past executive member of the Ontario Electrical League. A dedicated Mason, he served as the Secretary of Sudbury Lodge AF&AM and he had been an active member and Past President of the Sudbury Shrine Club. Bob will be remembered as a very generous person who was quick to help others. He can echo St. Paul’s words, “I fought the good fight, I finished my course, I kept the faith.”  Resting at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch Street, Sudbury (Friends may call 2-5; 7-9 P.M. Friday and after 12 noon Saturday with a Masonic Service at 7:00 P.M. Friday, under the auspices of the Sudbury Lodge#658 AF&AM.) Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel Saturday, October 11th, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. Cremation with entombment at the Civic Cemetery In lieu of flowers donations to the Shriner’s Childrens Hospital would be appreciated.
