ZATEZALO, Agnes 'Nancy' (Greer)

In Loving Memory of Agnes “Nancy” Zatezalo (nee Greer) 94 years who passed away Tuesday, October 21st, 2014 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury.  Beloved wife of Milan “Mike” Zatezalo (predeceased 2012). Loving daughter of William and Annie Greer predeceased.  Dear sister of Robert, William, James, Margaret, Annie and Martha (all predeceased). Lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews and their families.  Born and educated in Glasgow, Scotland she was trained as a State-Registered Nurse and Certified Midwife. Agnes immigrated to Canada in 1950, where she began to travel across Canada to work in Toronto, Calgary, Banff and Nanaimo, B.C. She finally settled in Windsor in 1953 working at Metropolitan Hospital in the Maternity ward then was Afternoon Supervisor and finally located to the Urology Department. She was an active member of Emmanuel United Church, sang in the choir and also sang with the Windsor Light Opera Company for 3 years prior to meeting Mike. They were married in 1963.  After relocating to Sudbury, Agnes began work at the Sudbury General Hospital until 1970. In 1972 she started work at the Sudbury Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 1981. She and Mike had many trips to Scotland and Yugoslavia and also travelled Canada from coast to coast, and spent 2 weeks in Cuba every winter. Nancy expresses her heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Olivier and staff, Dr. Nawaz, Dr. Gill, Dr. Long, Dr. Singh and palliative care nursing staff at Health Sciences North and her individual care givers for their excellent care and compassion.  Memorial Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch Street, Sudbury Friday, October 24th, 2014 at 11:30 A.M. Cremation with entombment in the Civic Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation or Sudbury Infant Food Bank would be appreciated. (Friends may gather in the chapel after 11:15 A.M. Friday.)
