Elwood (Cowboy) Genoe passed away at home with family by his side on October 20, 2014. He was born to Adam and Elizabeth Genoe on May 21, 1927. He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Gordon, Carmen, Norman, Fred, Ray and Mervin, his sisters Pearl, Mabel and Edna, and his daughter Little Teresa.  He is survived by his wife Teresa, his children Roger (Dorothy), Rhonda (Barry Duff), Ron (Dana) and Diane (Jody Duff). He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Jeffery, Mathew, Donald, Ryan, Kyle, Amber and Dallas and his great grandson Luke. He will be sadly missed by his canine buddy Kooter.  Elwood grew up on a farm in Meaford, ON. As a young man he was a linesman, working for Ontario Hydro, where he got the nickname Cowboy.  He traveled to various parts of Ontario with Hydro. He met Teresa and settled in Spanish, ON. He worked as an electrician for Rio Algom mines in Elliot Lake for the rest of his career, retiring in 1989. He enjoyed many years at camp on Otter Lake before moving to Sudbury to live with Rhonda and Barry for the last 6 years. At Elwood’s request, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home.
