Half-sister to Joe Martell, Nancy Young, Art, Doug and Raymond Goddard, all predeceased. Dear sister-in-law of Sister Patricia Milks; Garnet and Mary Milks, (predeceased). Alice will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mom was raised in Sudbury, where she lived all her life. She married Basil and together they raised five children. Mom was a devote member of Holy Trinity Church and Glad Tidings Tabernacle. Her deep faith and love of God kept her happy and healthy throughout her life. Mom was President of the C.W.L. at Holy Trinity Church for many years. As well as being a Life Member of the C.W.L., she was the convenor of many C.W.L. Teas. She participated in the PTA of St. David’s School, where all five children attended. In her younger years, mom was a Boy Scout leader and an active participant in many local charities. She was a counselor at Crossroads 100 Huntley Street together with St. Leonard’s Halfway House. Mom was known for her kindness, generosity and empathy; whether providing love and guidance to her children and relatives or preparing a large pot of soup weekly for the local Soup Kitchen. Mom held various part time jobs during her life; however her main focus was her family, whom she loved more than anything. When asked if she ever had any career aspirations, her answer was always the same – a mother. Mom always told us she was happiest when in the company of her family. She also had many close friends over the years with who she shared the good times and the bad. She loved them all. The family would like to thank the staff at the Walford Residence where mom called home for 10 years. As well, we wish to sincerely thank Extendicare York, where she resided since June of this year. The staff at Extendicare York treated mom with love and respect during her stay. The family would also like to acknowledge the staff at Extendicare York for their kind and loving care received during this past week. Your thoughtfulness and kindness was greatly appreciated.
