SANDERS, Linda (Morris)

In loving Memory of Linda Sanders (nee Morris) 93 years with sadness her family announces her passing on Friday, November 28, 2014 at Health Sciences North. Beloved wife of Albert Lewis Sanders predeceased. Loving mother of Linda (Hughes) predeceased and Judy (Dave) Petrynchyn of Sudbury. Cherished grandmother of 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. Dear sister of Arthur Antoine, Marie Duffy predeceased and Dorothy (William) Catton. Linda was born in Lancashire, England, only child of Alec and Mary Malinda Morris. Coming to Canada in 1926, she grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She trained as a hairdresser and worked in the retail trade for some years, then worked for the Government of Manitoba. Linda was active with the Brownies and Girl Guides as leader, camp counsellor and badge examiner. She enjoyed many crafts and sang in Church choirs wherever she lived the last one being St. Mark’s United Church in Sudbury where she was a member since 1985. In 1977 Linda and Bert retired to West Hawk Lake, Manitoba where they spent the next 8 years enjoying nature, and the many friends they met there. In 1985, they moved to Sudbury. Linda had a happy nature, enjoyed life and was thankful for the blessings of family and friends and will be remembered for her sense of humour. She is not gone, our well beloved nor has she wandered far: just stepped into God’s loveliest room and left the door ajar.    There will be no funeral visitation and service. Cremation at Park Lawn Crematorium. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the SPCA would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
