MICK, Mary Catherine (Dempsey)

In Loving Memory of Mary Catherine Mick (Kay) (nee Dempsey) Passed away Friday, November 28th, 2014 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury.  Beloved mother of Brian Osborne (predeceased), Doug Osborne (Lanyin), Terry Osborne (Becky), Robert Osborne, Wendy McLaren (Orville) and Tracey Lowther (David). Cherished grandmother of Nicole Ryan (Henrik), Shawn McLaren, Amanda Hohmann, Sara McCleary (Mike), Kayla Venturi (Nick), Devin Osborne and Kyle Lowther. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters – Mike Dempsey, Helen Ryan, Jack Dempsey and Joan Woods. Fondly remembered by 6 great grandchildren and by many nieces and nephews.   Kay was born in Montreal and raised in Rouyn Noranda, Quebec. Kay moved to Sudbury as an adult to raise her family. Kay was well known in the west end of the city by working at a local grocery store for many years. Kay was a long time resident of Copper Cliff. She had many talents, she was an excellent cook, baker and loved to knit. Kay loved spending time with her family and loved to sit in her front porch and watch the people go by. Kay will be remembered for her kind heart and beautiful smile. Kay was fondly known by many as “Nana Kay”/ The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Cisa and Dr. Walton and all the amazing staff on 4 North Palliative Care Unit. Donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.  Memorial Visitation at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch Street, Sudbury (Friends may call after 1:00 P.M. Monday) Memorial Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel Monday, December 1st, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. Cremation with interment in the family plot in Quebec.
