PERDUE, E Norinne (Fielding)

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Norinne at Health Sciences North on Tuesday, December 30th, 2014 following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Sudbury 54 years ago, wife of Gerry Perdue and proud mother of Jason (22), Cameron (20) and Angela (17). Predeceased by her father Jim Fielding (in 2000), her grandfather Cliff Fielding (in 2004), and her aunt Brenda Wallace (in 1997). Norinne is survived by her mother, Shirley Fielding; her brothers, Murray (Debbie) and Craig (Katrina); and her grandmother, Lily Fielding. She will be missed by her uncles and aunts: Jamie Wallace, Max and Paula Holler, Norman and Lyn Holler; and by many cousins, friends and neighbours. Norinne was godmother to Jeff Wallace, Jens Langen and Jessica Perdue. She is also missed by the many members of the Perdue family in southern Ontario. Norinne had a lifelong interest in personal academic achievement, in the educational accomplishments of her children and in supporting others to meet their educational goals and interests. She is a graduate of Lockerby Composite School (Ontario Scholar), the University of Toronto (BA), Laurentian University (Hons. BA), and Columbia University, New York (MA). She supported and encouraged her children in their educational endeavours from an early age and was very proud of their educational achievements. Jason attends the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, Cameron is in Civil Engineering at Cambrian College, and Angela is in her graduating year at Lockerby Composite School. Angela has been accepted into the biochemistry program at Laurentian University for the fall of 2015. Norinne and her immediate family have been very generous in supporting the annual expenses of students who need financial assistance to attend Laurentian University. She was a founding member of the Jim Fielding Memorial Bursary program and together with her grandparents and uncle, Jamie Wallace, established the Clifford and Lily Fielding Charitable Foundation. Norinne enjoyed reading, traveling, swimming, good food and the outdoors. In her early years, she excelled in dressage competitions traveling to many locations across the country. Throughout her life she enjoyed her time at the farm on La Cloche Island with her family, friends and special friend Beatrice. She also enjoyed her times at David Lake, the French River, Lake Panache and her regular visits to The Villa in Naples, Florida. Until her death, Norinne was grateful and appreciative of the loyalty, guidance and friendship of Rachel Eastman, Maureen Houle and Scott Mantle. Many thanks go to Dr. Cano and Suzanne, Dr. Bhatia, Dr. Linda Tenhunen, Dr. Jacob Holub, and the staff of the chemotherapy, emergency, and palliative care departments at Health Sciences North for the excellent and compassionate care given to Norinne during her illness.
