In Loving Memory of Ronald “Ron” Richard Douglas, 71 years, Friday, January 23rd, 2015 at the Maison Vale Hospice.

Beloved husband of Ellen (Maltby) Douglas. Loving father of Ted (Sharri Bozzato) of Niagara Falls and Mary (Brent Kahara) of Ottawa. Cherished grandfather of Zachary, Tessa, and Quin Douglas, and Sofie Kahara. Dear son of Richard Ben and Marie (Dwelsdorf) Douglas both predeceased. Dear brother of Linda (Bill Brown), and predeceased by Barbara. Dear uncle of Roberta (Dean Lukawesky), Brandon Brown (Terina) and LaRae Brown, all of Edmonton. Sadly missed by the Maltby and Henning families of Wisconsin and Minnesota. Born in Edmonton, Ron received his undergraduate degree from George Williams College in Downers Grove, Illinois and his graduate degree from Central Michigan University. As a student he worked for YMCAs in Edmonton, Chicago, and Thunder Bay, then served in administration with the Addiction Research Foundation/Center for Addiction and Mental Health in Thunder Bay, Sudbury and Toronto. Ron was proud of his work as a professor teaching addiction studies at Confederation College (Thunder Bay), Cambrian College (Sudbury) and Nipissing University (North Bay).

The family wish to thank the Cancer Center, CCAC, Dr. Walton, Dr. Goluch, and the Maison Vale Hospice for all their care and kindness.

At Ron’s request there will be no public visitation or service. Cremation.

Donations to the Trillium Foundation or Maison Vale Hospice would be appreciated.
