On Monday January 26, 2015 Blake passed away peacefully at the Maison Vale Hospice in Sudbury, Ontario, surrounded by family and friends, after a determined battle with cancer. He is survived by his daughter Morgan (Corey Couto), his son Jacob and their mother Kim, along with his brother Bill, his wife Carolee and their two sons Brian and Doug.

Blake enjoyed a variety of pastimes, many of which he passed onto his children, including a love of reading and cooking. He fondly recounted stories from his fishing trips with close friends Nelson, Richard “Gaboo”, J.S., and several others over the years.

With an adventurous spirit, Blake enjoyed numerous trips across Route 66, a lifelong dream, and travelled extensively through Canada, the USA and Mexico. Blake made many friends through his life, travels and work who will miss his wit and wisdom, which he often shared.

At Blake’s request, there will be no visitation or service. His family would like to extend their deepest thanks for the kind and wonderful care extended by the entire staff of the Maison Vale Hospice. The family also wishes to thank Lynn and Dwyer Briand and Brian and Linda Lee for their many years of close friendship with Blake. In lieu of flowers, donations would be welcomed at the Maison Vale Hospice or to the Trans-Canada Trail. Also thank you to Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home in Sudbury for all of the arrangements.
