In Loving Memory of Jean-Louis (Johnny) Ethier It is with great sadness that the family announces his passing in Sudbury on Saturday, January 31st, 2015 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of 62 years of Pierrette (nee Duguay). Loving father of Marc (Vanessa) of Barrie, Lise Lancia (Tony) of Burlington, Guy (Bonnie) of London, Sue Claveau (Ernie) of Capreol. Cherished grandfather to Renee, Adam, Amy, Tony, Cory, Michelle, Alexandra, John, and great grandfather to Nolan, Makayla, and Gavin. Sadly missed by his canine pal Bandit. Predeceased by his parents Alexandrine and Cyprien and by his sister Dolores and brothers Lionel, Rene, Armand, Aime, Gerard, and Marcel. He is survived by his brother George of Timmins, sisters Lucille Lecours of Hearst, Rollande Cole of Barrie, Raymonde Waldriff (Deb) of St. Catharines, Gemma Jacobsen of Sudbury, Simone Hein of Hanmer, Claire Reed (Norm) of Oxbow, Saskatchewan. Johnny spent many years service his community as a member of the Knights of Columbus, attaining the level of Fourth Degree Grand Knight. He will also be remembered by all who knew him for his love of family, hockey (and the rink he built every year), animals, and the bush. Johnny worked at CN Rail for 36 years, retiring in 1986. After he retired from CN he spent most of his time at his camp in Anstice and was elected “Mayor” in 1988, a post which he held until his passing. A very special thank you to Amanda from Bayshore Nurses and the staff of Health Sciences North 6th Floor, for all the special care, attention, and support. Memorial Mass in Our Lady of Peace Church, Capreol Thursday, May 7th, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. (Friends may gather after 10:30 a.m.) Followed by interment in the Capreol Cemetery.
