MISZCZAK, Leokadia (Zalewski)

In loving memory the family announces with great sorrow her passing in Sudbury at the age of 81 years. Born in Stare-Krzewo, Poland. Daughter of the late Andrzej and Anastasia Zalewski. Loving wife to Henry Miszczak for 60 ½ years. Dear mother of Elizabeth (Andrew Weglewski) and John (Joan); and caring mama for 44 years to Sam Khoury (Lori and family). Cherished Babcia of Paul, Brent, Michael, and Christina; and great grandmother to Alexis. Dear sister of Eugenia Jambrzycki (Jerzy) of Elk, Poland, and Stanislaw Zalewski (predeceased); sister-in-law of Helen Miszczak, Sudbury and Michalina Miszczak of Warsaw, Poland. Dearest Ciocia of Ella Wiszowaty (Grzesiek) of Toronto; Andrzej Jambrzycki (Helena) of Elk Poland, Dariusz Jambrzycki of Germany, Andrzej Miszczak (Mariola) and Krystyna Choinski (Krzysiek) of Warsaw, Poland. Godmother to Joanne Pendrak-Flesher and Andrzej Jambrzycki. Leokadia (Lodzia) was a very active member of the Polish Club of Sudbury and St. Casimir’s Church since 1958, when she emigrated to Canada, and Sudbury. Lodzia loved gardening both at home and at camp, flowers filled her house and gardens. Family was her pride and joy as she loved to bring family together as often as possible (everyone looked forward to Lodzia's meals, she was a great cook.) The family would like to thank the staff on the 6th floor, South Tower of HSN, and Maison Vale Hospice for their care and support. Resting at the Lougheed Funeral Home 252 Regent St., at Hazel St. (Friends may call 2-5; 7-9 p.m. Friday with parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. Friday) Funeral Mass in St. Casimir’s Church 210 Paris St., Sudbury Saturday, March 7th, 2015 at 10 a.m. Interment in the Civic Cemetery. In lieu flowers, donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation, the St. Casimir’s Church or charity of your choice would be appreciated.
