It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that the family and loved ones of James Mackay Thomson (Jim, Jimmy, JT) announce his sudden passing on Saturday April 11, 2015, at the young age of 50. Jim is survived by his loving partner Jodie Pakkala, Mother Susan Thomson and Father James Thomson (Bola). He was the beloved father of Alex, Grace, Braedan and Tyson. Jim will be dearly missed by his sisters Susan (Mississauga), Patricia (Hong Kong), Brenda (predeceased), Janet-a.k.a Jenny and her son Keenan (Sudbury), step sister Susan Semenzin (Wayne Earl), brother in law Andrew Scinto (Kim Reisiger), dear friend Ruth Joly (mother of Alex and Grace), his mother and father in law, Shirley (MIL) and Jim Moore (Callander), Auntie Sheila and Uncle Paddy (predeceased), cousins Terry (predeceased), Gary and Brad Keenan (Jim Connell), many relatives in Scotland and his second family at the Doghouse. “Jimmy” will be remembered by hundreds of friends as a fine man with an amazing love of life. He was a man you could count on, positive, kind and loving, always giving of himself to anyone in need. He was a natural athlete who loved all sports and excelled in everything he did. Jim was a lover of music; especially 70’s rock. “Classic Vinyl” was the standard soundtrack in his truck and ‘man cave.’ Jim was handy at a jam session – one of his very favorite pastimes was singing with friends and family around a campfire. Jim was a die hard Maple Leafs fan. He was often spotted on a walk with his best friend, Tyson, or just puttering around the house and yard. So, in memory of our dear friend, please raise a glass in honour of the unforgettable, ‘Jimmy Thomson’. You will be forever loved and your memory will live on in all of us. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Association would be greatly appreciated. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at the Beef ‘N Bird on Friday, April 17, 2015 between 2 and 8pm. Please feel free to bring a story, song, or instrument. Let’s do this Jimmy style! Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home.
