In Loving Memory of Eino Edward Santala 75 years passed away on April 13th, 2015 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury after a battle with cancer. Beloved son of Oiva and Alli Santala predeceased. Cherished brother Ronald (Lorna predeceased) and Douglas (Lorraine) both of Lively. Loving stepfather to Terry, Shelley, Sherry, Michael, Joey and sadly missed by their mother Beverly. Also sadly missed by nephews Kai (Lacey), Craig (Christine) and Graham and nieces Keirann (John) and Elaine (Fred) and cousins, Fred, Roy and Gord Santala and uncle Walter Ranta of Lively. Born in Sudbury on July 19, 1939 lived most of his life in the Sudbury area and after retirement on Wabagisik Road near Nairn Center. He loved old cars and had many cars and pickup trucks which he worked on using his mechanical aptitude and love of this hobby. He was also a self taught heavy equipment operator and was renowned for his ability in the operating of his John Deere backhoe. He worked for many years in the family trucking business and once that closed he worked for other local contractors with the operating of heavy equipment. After retirement, Ed loved to go to the machinery and equipment auctions and was the proud owner of farm tractors and vintage vehicles throughout his life. In recent years, he established friendships with other old timers and looked forward to their meetings and coffee at local Tim Horton’s Coffee Shops. There will be no funeral home visitation. A celebration of Ed’s life will take place at the Beaver Lake Sports and Cultural Centre on Sunday, May 3rd, 2015 from 1-3p.m. Donations to the Beaver Lake Sports and Cultural Centre would be appreciated.
