In Loving Memory of Arvo Johannes Sirkka, born September 26th, 1917, who passed away at Health Sciences North on July 11th, 2015. Survived by his beloved wife Nina Sirkka. Cherished father of Steven (Gena) Sirkka and Susan (Douglas) Cassan. Loving uncle of Ronald Sirkka, Donald Sirkka, Edward Sirkka and Vilma Gordon. Dear son of Fanny and Matti Sirkka. Arvo was a Graduate in Mining Engineering from Queens University. He was a Veteran and retired from INCO having worked as an executive at mines in Frood, Levack and Thompson, Manitoba and for CIDA in the Department of Mines, Botswana. Arvo was President of the Rotary Club of Thompson, Manitoba and a member of the Rotary Club of Sudbury. He enjoyed the family camp on Lake Penage and hunting and fishing with his nephews and friends in the Sudbury region and many places in Northern Ontario. Arvo and Nina shared the love of travelling the world together and did so side by side. Arvo Sirkka leaves behind family and friends who will miss his enthusiasm for life, engagement with world events, and wry sense of humour. The world's most patient man, and most impatient fisherman. Memorial Service in The RJ Barnard Chapel Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch Street, Sudbury on Tuesday, July 28th, 2015 at 1:00P.M. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium.
