In Loving Memory of Edna Marie Dreisinger 85 years Passed away on July 29th, 2015. Edna was born in Altamont, Manitoba and moved to Sudbury as a child. She graduated from St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing and met and married the love of her life (Bruce predeceased 1995) in Sudbury in 1953. Edna was a loving and proud mother to Sharon Wicklander (Steve), Dave (Kathy Whidden), Doug (Louise) and Marilyn Savage (George Gavrel). She was a loving grandmother to Greg (Shannon), Jeff (Kyla), Brad (Danielle), Caleb, Kimberly, Jessica, Olivia, Kayla, Stephanie, Amanda, Michael and Marlayna, and great grandmother to Kaden, Ava, Audrey and Jaxon. She is predeceased by her parents, Hugh Munro and Amanda Munro (nee Payette) and her sister Eva Beattie. Sadly missed by her nieces and nephews especially Virginia Crise, Lisa Beattie, Ron Erdmann and Gordon Robertson. She always held a special place in her heart for Kelly Dreisinger and will be fondly remembered by her wonderful friends. Edna had a love for travel and visited over 50 countries with family and friends, amongst her favourite places being Turkey, Israel and the former Yugoslavia region. Aside from travel, Edna’s true passion in life was duplicate bridge and she was a “Silver Life Master” and a strong member of the Sudbury Bridge Club for more than 25 years. Edna was an incredibly strong-minded woman with an amazing will to live; she was not going early… just in case she missed something. Her inner strength to persevere through many challenges and much adversity throughout her life was a true inspiration to all; she will be sorely missed! Edna’s final days were spent at the Maison Vale Hospice; a truly beautiful place with amazingly compassionate nurses, support workers and staff/volunteers. A special thanks to Dr. Thakrar, Dr. Oliphant and Dr. Slaney all of whom helped make Edna’s final days comfortable and dignified.
