In Loving Memory of Wanda (Hinc) Swiatek who peacefully passed away on Friday, August 28th, 2015 at the age of 93 with her loving family by her side. Wanda was born in Gdansk, Poland. Following service with the Polish Forces in Europe, she immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada where she married Tadeusz Swiatek. Wanda was an independent lady who lived life on her own terms. She loved reading, travelling, gardening and cooking. Some of her happiest times were when family gathered to enjoy many laughs while sharing in traditional Polish meals. Birthday parties weren’t complete without Wanda leading the family in the singing of “Sto Lat”. A good friend to many, Wanda was quick to help others and was devoted to her family. Spiritual devotion was an important part of her life; she was a faithful member of St. Kevin’s Parish for many years. Beloved wife of Tadeusz Swiatek (predeceased). Loving mother of Waldie (Moira) and Mirek (Denise). Cherished Babcia of Stephen (Tamar), Andrew (Julianne), Victoria (Daniel), Kevin and Krista (Dan). Wanda was also blessed with six great grandchildren. Sadly missed by many family members in Poland. The family would like to extend appreciation to the Personal Support Workers of Red Cross Care Partners, staff at the Elizabeth Center and to her personal physician, Dr. K. Jakelski.
