Mulroy, James Robert In Loving Memory of Sir Knight James Robert Mulroy, October 28, 1927 – August 29, 2015 at the Maison Vale Hospice, Sudbury. Born in Runnymede, SK he was the beloved son of the late Walter and Mary (Wizniuk) Mulroy. James Robert Mulroy, also known as “Uncle Jim” was the last member of this family. He was predeceased by his siblings Walter, John (Molly), Joe (Ella), Annie Short (Eugene), Dorothy Lupichuk (Sam), Cecilia Burback (Albert), Marie Hamil (Don), Patrick (Rita Kennedy) and an adopted brother Micky Mulroy (Sonja). Uncle Jim grew up on a farm in Runnymede, SK, and had a way with the animals. They connected with his fundamental gentle nature, especially dogs and horses. He left the farm and joined CP Rail Road, as “Maintenance of the Way”, making sure the rails stayed in pristine condition. Jim retired at the mandatory age of 65 after 25 years of dedicated service. Living in Manitouwadge, ON he remained single and said he liked it this way. He was a member of the Golden Age Club (even had a key to the place) and was bestowed the honor of the Fourth Degree Knight. James loved to bowl, play crib and collect coins. It wouldn’t be uncommon to see him hunched over and scanning the ground for pennies. He eventually moved to Sudbury with the help of Cathy Mulroy (niece) and her husband Merv McLaughin. Uncle Jim will be sadly missed by his numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was loved by everyone he met. Arrangements entrusted to Ranger’s Cremation and Burial Services Ltd., www.RangersSudbury.com
