WALKER, M. Helen (Basso)

In Loving Memory of Helen Marie (nee Basso) Walker 87 years Thursday, October 8th, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Villa, Sudbury. Beloved wife of Barry Walker predeceased 1986. Loving mother of Stephen (wife Micheline), Michael (wife Cathy) and David (wife Dominique). Cherished Nana of Kelly (Michael), Krista (Patrick), Katie, Jenna Lynn predeceased, Lauren, Lindsey, Ryan, Jillian and great grandchildren Shyanne and Savannah. Dear daughter of Harold and Gladys (Hornibrook) Basso both predeceased. Dear sister of Harold predeceased (June), Calvin (Eileen) both predeceased and Earl predeceased (Jean). Dear sister in law of Thelma Labbé. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Helen was a graduate of the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1949 and she was a faithful member of the alumnae. She was a well respected registered nurse having worked at all local hospitals, retiring in 1986. She was an avid curler and bowler. Helen had an irrepressible zest for life. She will be remembered for her compassion and wonderful sense of humour. She was a woman of great faith who lived the lessons of love taught by Jesus on a daily basis. Helen was the go-to person for family and extended family in solving problems and improving situations. The focus of her life was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, in whose activities and accomplishments she took great pride and interest. The light of her life will be cherished by all who knew and loved her. Memorial Service in the Lougheed Funeral Home 252 Regent Street at Hazel Street Friday, October 16th, 2015 at 11:30 A.M. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph’s Villa would be appreciated. (Friends may gather after 11:15 A.M. Friday)
