COURTNEY, H. Elaine (CHARRIER)

In Loving Memory of Elaine Henrietta (Charrier) Courtney, 63 years. Saturday, November 21st, 2015 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury. Dear daughter of Alfred and Henrietta Charrier both predeceased. Beloved wife of George Courtney for 38 wonderful years. Loving mother of Patrick (Kristin) and Marcie. Cherished grandmother of Adrian, Padraig and Bryce. Dear sister of Raymond (Alice) of Manitowaning, Diana Smith (Daryl) of Capreol, Pamela Steklasa (Edward) of Garson, Alfred (Patricia) of Hanmer and Bryan (Cheryl) of Sudbury. Special sister in law to Eugene “Geno” Courtney of Sudbury. Dear sister in law of Hughie (Noeleen) of Ireland, Margaret (Tony) of Ireland and Sheila Rooney (Eammon) of Australia. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Elaine was an excellent legal secretary at Weaver Simmons, working for Mr. Berk Keaney for many years. She was a past secretary of the Irish Heritage Club, served as a board member with Elizabeth Fry and was active for many years with the Catholic Women’s League. Elaine will be fondly remembered as a strong, loving woman with a amazing sense of humour and loved to joke around. With her kind and gentle manner she touched the lives of all she met. Elanie had numerous passions such as shopping, travelling, spending time on Manitoulin Island and winters in Florida, and everything ""Elvis"", but she was happiest when she was spending time with her family and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Singh, Dr. Knight, Dr. Mucano, Dr. Bowen and Dr. Thakrar, Nursing Staff on 4 North at Health Sciences North, CCAC and Bayshore for all their care and kindness. Funeral Visitation at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St., Sudbury (Friends may call 4-8pm Wednesday with parish prayers at 4pm).
