GAGNON, E. Marcel

The family announces with sorrow his passing in Sudbury at Maison Vale Hospice, on Saturday, January 16, 2016. Marcel was 76 years old. Son of the late Albert and the late Annette (née Boutin) Gagnon. Loving and devoted husband of Irene (née Bergeron) Démoré. Father of Carole-Anne (Gerry Landry), Marcel Jr. (Patti Gervais), Pierrette (Tyler Parkin) and Guy (Teri Benoit). Step-father of Bob Démoré (Monique Labranche), Marc Démoré (Lorraine Brosseau) and Micheline Préseault (Richard). Sadly missed by his sisters Jeannine Gagnon, Yvette (Robert Renaud) and by his brother John. Grandfather to Alex Gagnon, Josée Démoré, Guy Démoré, Eric Préseault, Brigitte Démoré and Joël Préseault. Proud great-grandfather to Merik and Marcus Démoré. Marcel will be missed by all who knew him. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor. Marcel enjoyed his many summers at the cottage on the French River. He loved gardening, hunting and fishing. Marcel was truly happy when spending time with family. Marcel and Irene did a lot of travelling and enjoyed many good times together. Marcel worked as a real estate agent and then joined the Carpenter’s Union for 32 years. Special thank you to Dr. Cano, Dr. Singh, Dr. Shum and Dr. Tom Crichton for all their special care and compassion towards Marcel. Thank you to all the staff at Maison Vale Hospice and Dr. Nathalie Slaney who made Marcel’s stay most comfortable. Special thanks to Father Tremblay for his many visits and to Adrienne Démoré who helped Irene accompany Marcel to all his appointments and to encourage and guide them all the way. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd E., Sudbury, Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9:30 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, January 22, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St-Jean-de-Brébeuf, Sudbury. Donations in memory of Marcel, may be made to the Maison Vale Hospice or St-Jean-de-Brébeuf Renovation Fund.
