WAGNER, A. Kathleen (Callen)

February 7, 2016 70

It is with great sorrow that the family announces her passing in Sudbury on Sunday, February 7th, 2016 at the age of 70 years. Predeceased by her parents Harry and Lucille (Matson) Callen, she was the beloved life partner of Brian Turner (daughters Bridget, Janis and Pamela), loving mother of Erich Wagner (Rachelle Prevost) and Marlene Wagner (Adrian Marcoux), the cherished grandmother of Kurtis, Logan, Kyla, Kaitlyn, Owen, Merisa, Makayla, Tristan and Rebekka, and a dear sister to Kristine Calhoun (Harry). She was predeceased by brothers Thomas and John (Sheri). She will also be sadly missed by her nieces and cousins, by life-long friends and colleagues, and by many, many others whose lives she touched. Kathy was an active member of the Sudbury community for nearly 50 years, having a life-long passion for social justice and being an advocate for those with life challenges as a teacher, political activist and charity patron. But her strongest focus was always her family, cherishing the joys of being physically close to many of her grandchildren and yet also maintaining close bonds with family members across vast distances. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Saturday, February 13 from 2-5 and 7-8 pm, and at 8 pm the family will invite individuals to publically share their stories and remembrances of Kathy in celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kathy’s memory by cheque or online to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada or the Autism Society Ontario Sudbury District. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
