KOSKELA, M. Inga 'Millie' (VUORI)

In Loving Memory of Inga Mildred “Millie” Koskela (nee Vuori) 84 years It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mildred 'Millie' Inga Koskela on April 10, 2014 at Health Sciences North. Her life journey began in Toronto on June 9, 1929 to parents Arvo and Siiri Vuori (predeceased).Millie's mothering and nurturing character began at the age of twelve when her sister Irma (predeceased) was born. She later met the love of her life and soulmate Taisto 'Ty' Koskela and after a five year courtship they were married on August 30, 1952. For almost sixty years they made Falconbridge their home where Millie also worked at the Falconbridge Public School and Poupore Lumber as a secretary. She lived life to the fullest and loved her summers at their camp on Kukagami Lake, being a member of the Nickel Centre Seniors, the Falconbridge Curling Club and the Ladies 500 card group. Labelled the energizer bunny for her endless amount of spirit and energy, she loved to dance, cross country ski, swim, kayak, work in her gardens, travel and in earlier years she sewed, knit, crocheted and painted. A book she was reading was always close by and things had to be quiet when her favourite soap stories were on. Her proudest accomplishment were her children - Kathy Palmaruk, husband Dean and their children Julie and Shawn; Karyn Geeza, husband Glen and their children Kristen and Victoria Chapman and Chris (son Logan) and Jay Geeza; Kalvin and Christy and children TJ and Samantha. She recently was thrilled at finally becoming a great grandmother (Isomuummu) to Haylee Palmaruk. Mom played such a large role in our lives and guided us with love and patience to become the adults we are today. She lived, taught and passed on these qualities to the next generation and enjoyed many years of love and friendship with her grandchildren. She is also predeceased by her brother's, Patric and Pekka and fondly remembered by their families in Finland. Many cousins, nieces, nephews and their families will all hold special times spent with Millie close to their hearts. Mom's smile, laughter and the gift of never ending love will be her legacy to all her family and friends.
