Also special thanks to Barry’s best friend Jim Leslie who visited faithfully. Barry was a teacher with the Rainbow District School Board starting his career in 1973 at Sudbury Secondary School and retired from Confederation High School in 2003. He taught geography as well as many other subjects and coached different sports. Barry loved his family more than anything. He had a gentle and an easy going personality with a wonderful sense of humour. He loved sports in general and it was a huge part of his life. He truly enjoyed playing sports including basketball, hockey, and baseball. He especially loved his Tuesday night baseball and hockey teams and looked forward to chicken wings and pop afterwards. He was an avid Sudbury Wolves fan, having season tickets for many years. Barry also had a passion for sailing and owned his own sailboat for a few years. He loved his Corvettes and was the proud owner of several of them. Of all his passions his 1995 Harley-Davidson Heritage Soft-tail was his favourite and he will truly miss riding it. Barry also was very proud of being part of the Sudbury Unit of the OPP Auxiliary as Auxiliary Staff Sergeant for 5 years. He will be forever missed by many close friends, family, and all that knew him. Special thanks to all the staff on the 4th floor, North Tower Oncology, especially all of his nurses who were also his angels. Special thanks to Dr. R.
