It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear husband and father, Luc Bellemare, on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at 73 years. Beloved husband of Juliette (Shank) and loving father of Lucie, spouse Albert Gauthier, Nicole, spouse Todd Fielding and Angèle Bellemare. Adored pépére of René, Bianca, Jonathan and Julien. Son of the late Léandre and the late Valéda (Dagenais). Cherished brother of Gabriel Dagenais, wife Jean of Trenton, Lucille Bellemare (predeceased), Réjean Bellemare, wife Diane of North Bay, Réjeanne Lalonde (predeceased) spouse Marcel of Hanmer and Diane Pauzé of Garson. Son-in-law of the late Nelson and the late Cécile (Morin). Brother-in-law of Bob Shank (predeceased) and wife Jean of Hampton VA, Jeanine Shank (predeceased), Bernard Shank, wife Nancy of Val Caron, Fern Shank, wife Donna of Lethbridge, Alberta and Sister Suzanne Shank of Sudbury. Uncle Luc leaves many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Born in Laverlochère, Québec, he moved to the Sudbury area with his parents. He married Julie in 1965 and together they raised their three daughters in Val Caron. Luc loved his job as a class A maintenance mechanic/millright at INCO where he worked for over 30 yrs. He was a Valley East Volunteer Fire Fighter for 30 yrs and was on the loans board at the Val Caron Caisse Populaire. He loved hockey, hunting, fishing and camping. What he loved most however, were his four grandchildren of whose accomplishments he was quite proud. His sense of humour and silly jokes will be greatly missed. The Montreal Canadiens have lost a huge fan! The family would like to thank the amazing staff in the dialysis unit at Health Sciences North for their great care during these last 10 years. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME 4570 rue St-Joseph, HANMER on Friday, August 1, 2014 between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. and again from 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. A funeral mass will take place at the St. Jacques Parish, 46 Côté Blvd, Hanmer on Saturday, August 2, 2014. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations (by cheque only) be made to Health Sciences North - Dialysis unit.
