The family announces with great sorrow her passing in Sudbury on Sunday, August 24th, 2014 at the age of 87 years. Beloved wife of late Aldège Spencer of Sudbury. Daughter of the late Xavier and of the late Florentine (née Larocque) Lalonde. Loving mother of Gérard (Monique), Noël (Ellen), Jean-Marc (Julie Rousseau), Maurice (Regina Hallows) and Monique Dalcourt (Rémi). Predeceased by her children Raymond, Marie Louise and Donald (Julie Vynal). Dear sister of Stella Lapointe (Raymond) and Alfred (Monique) of Laval, QC. Predeceased by her sister Gracia (late Maurice) and by her brothers Xyste, Léandre (Rita), Noël (Stella), Félix (Annette) and Philippe (Joyce). She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Daniel, Renée, Micheline, Mireille, Jean-Guy, Gilles, Richard, Chantal, Natalie, Patrick, Suzanne, Caroline, Michael, Ryan, Steven, Matthieu, Josée and by her 18 great-grandchildren whom she was very proud of. Maria was an accomplished music teacher for 65 years. She spent many years playing Sunday masses, weddings, funerals and midnight masses. She loved playing Bingo, cards, Yahtzee and doing her daily Sudbury Star crosswords. The family would like to thank her family physician Dr. Henderson and her secretary Deb, Dr. Clark and staff at the North East Specialized Geriatrics Services, Westmount Retirement Home, Maison Vale Hospice staff and volunteers, Carmen and Diane (PSWs), Revera Home Care, CCAC and the palliative care team. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, on Wednesday, August 27th, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Thursday, August 28th, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 a.m. at L’Annonciation, Sudbury. Donations (by cheque only) to the Maison Vale Hospice or Masses to L’Annonciation would be appreciated.
