In Loving Memory of Lawrence Joseph “Larry” Wagner It is with a heavy heart that the family announces the passing of Lawrence Wagner, with his family by his side, on August 27, 2014. Survived by his loving wife of 53 years Deanna (Medina) Wagner, his three daughters: Joy (Michael Tuomi), Jodi (Brendan Hatton), Paula (Bruce Bichel). Loving Nonno to his four grandchildren, Matthew and Shawn Tuomi, Benjamin and Erica Bichel. Larry was born in Spruce Grove, Alberta to Rudolph and Christine Wagner (predeceased) and is the brother to Erwin (predeceased) Marie, Walter, Arthur (Angeline) and Dennis (Marilyn). Larry is also survived by sister-in-laws Marry Basso (Reno predeceased), Valda Taus (Art predeceased), Amelia Smania (Reno predeceased), Rena Decet (Guiseppe), Norma Soltendieck (Herman predeceased), Olga Makarinsky (Frank), and brother-in-laws Gino Medina (Arlene) and Sergio Medina (Judy). Larry came to Sudbury in 1955 and settled in Onaping. He worked for Falconbridge in various capacities for 36 years, retiring in 1991. Larry was an outstanding athlete, be it on the ball field, curling rink, but most of all the golf course. In recognition of Larry’s talent he was inducted into the House of Kin Sudbury Sports Hall of Fame in 2005, an honour he was deeply humbled by. The family wishes to thank Dr. Puranam, and the nursing staff on the 5th Floor of the Health Sciences North for their outstanding care and compassion in Larry’s final days. Funeral Visitation at the Jackson Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury. Family and Friends may call Friday, August 29, 2014 between 4:00 – 8:00 pm. Funeral Service to be held at the St. Bartholomew’s Church, 30 Church Street, Levack at 11:00 am on Saturday August 30, 2014. Cremation to follow at the Park Lawn Crematorium. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
