MAJURY, J. Vernon

March 15, 1918 - Sept. 6, 2014  Peacefully, with his family by his side at Finlandia in his 96th year of a generous life.Beloved husband of Angela (Nicalek) for over 72 years.Loving father to Vernon Gaye (predeceased) wife Gloria of Kelowna, B.C.  Terry of Orillia, Patrick of Palatine,Il and Paula (Paul Truskoski) of Sudbury.Cherished Grandfather of Kevin (Barb), Stephen (Vanessa), Lee-Ann (Tom Dutfield), Christopher, Michael (Christine Nielsen), David, Elizabeth (Jeff Mockett), Amanda (Kyle Gray) and Rob (Crystal).Proud Great Grandfather to sixteen wonderful children: Jessica ,Ryan, Aidan, Cate, Mena, Rhys, Tatum and Braeden Majury, Alex, Kira and Hunter Dutfield, Rachel and Rebecca Mockett, Charlotte and Alexander Gray and Aiden Gillard.Much loved Uncle of Sandy Doherty of Lake Worth, Fl.Predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Nellie (McClelland) Majury and his siblings, Maye, Joy, Irene, Ruby, Clary, Nelson, Madge and Tommy.Special thanks to the staff at Finlandia for their excellent care, compassion and support.Vernon will always be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit, his love for his family, sports, a quick wit and a warm smile.In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation or service.Donations to the SPCA or Children’s charity would make him happy.Till we meet again.
