Leslie James Booth (88th year) passed away peacefully at Maison Vale Hospice on September 9, 2014, with his loving family by his side.  To the end, Les kept his sharp wit and keen sense of humour. Les is survived by his wife of 57 years, Norma (née Unger), sons Charles (Barbara) and Robert (Helena), as well as daughter Stacy (Jon Daniels). Grandpa Les will be sadly missed, but happily remembered by his grandchildren:  Patrick “Tiger”, Alex “Scooter”, Emily “Contessa”, Robyn “Lady Bird”, Lauren “Lady Lauren”, Bailey “Irish Queen”, and Ryley “Rocky”. Born in Montreal, Les was the eldest of four brothers: William “Bud”, Gilbert “Gil” (predeceased), and Lawrence “Larry”.  Les relocated to North Bay in 1952, where he met his life mate Norma.  Together they enjoyed an active life that included curling, skiing, trips to Florida, and cottaging at Wasi Lake.  Les’s coffee “cronies” will miss him.    Les had a successful career in sales with GTE Sylvania Electric, making countless friends throughout his Northern Ontario travels. He was actively involved with the Associated Canadian Travellers, fundraising for notable community projects in the Nipissing area. We send a very special thank you to all of the Health Sciences North staff on the Fourth Floor Oncology Unit who entered his room and cared for Les with compassion all while sharing in his humorous banter.  We also extend another thank you to the doctors at the City of Lakes Family Health Team and the staff at Maison Vale Hospice. At Les’s request there will be no funeral, flowers or visitation. Donations may be made to the Health Sciences North Fourth Floor Oncology Unit. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in North Bay. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home, Sudbury
