TREITZ, Albert

The family announces with great sorrow his passing in Sudbury on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 74 years of age.  Beloved husband of 52 years to Helen (née Kingsley) of Val Caron.  Predeceased by his parents Arthur and Exilda (née Laforest) Treitz.  Cherished father of David (wife Shelley) and Tina (husband Tomm Orendorff).  Predeceased by his daughter Kimberley Ann (2010).  Dear brother of Richard (wife Lorraine) and Linda Simonini (husband Larry predeceased).  Cherished grandfather of Jesse and step-grandfather of Kira, Krista and Destiny (husband Matt). Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Albert retired in 1990 as Staff Sergeant with the Sudbury Regional Police, after 32 years of service. He was well liked and respected by his fellow officers.  The family expresses their most sincere appreciation to Dr. Baldisera, Dr. Singh, Dr. Knight, Dr. Slaney, Dr. Shehata and the nurses, volunteers and staff at the Maison Vale Hospice and the Cancer Treatment Center for their kind and compassionate care.  Special thanks to friends and family for their support during this difficult time. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME are incomplete at this time. A private family burial will take place at a later date.  Donations (by cheque only) to the Maison Vale Hospice would be appreciated.
