DALLE VEDOVE, Phil

In Loving Memory of Phil ""Big Phil"" Dalle Vedove who passed away at Extendicare Falconbridge on November 24, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.   He was born in Sudbury on May 12th, 1936 to Santo and Inez (Mazza) Dalle Vedove. Phil was a family man who lived a simple life. He had a great sense of humour and was always ready with a joke or story.   Beloved husband of Ann Dalle Vedove, née Samborski. Much loved father of Debbie Dalle Vedove (Richard Preyde), Laura Falvo, Danny Dalle Vedove and Phillip Dalle Vedove (Rachelle). Adored Nonno of Deanna, Marissa and Sara, Philip and Emme, and Paige.   Cherished only brother to his sisters Angela (Onelio Serafini predeceased), Louise (Randy Dussiaume), and Madelyn Dalle Vedove. He had a special love for his mother-in-law, Jennie Samborski (predeceased 2013). Phil will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. ""Chief"" will also be dearly missed by Karen Hastie and daughter Hailey.  ""Big Phil"" was a millwright with INCO for 44 years, retiring in 1996.  Special thanks to Dr. Ray Sawkiw and Extendicare nursing staff especially Leah, Gisele and Kirandeep who made Dad as comfortable as possible.  Phil is resting at Lougheed Funeral Home 252 Regent Street in Sudbury. Friends may call Thursday, November 27th, 2014 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.. Prayers at 3:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at St. Anthony's Church 19 Mary Street in Sudbury on Friday, November 28th, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. - Fr. Larry Rymes officiating. Burial to follow at Lasalle Roman Catholic Cemetery.  The family would appreciate donations, in lieu of flowers, to St. Anthony's Church, Canadian Diabetes Association - Sudbury branch or Extendicare Falconbridge Residence Council.
