In loving memory of Edith ""Joyce"" McRae, 90, who passed away peacefully in Sudbury on November 26, 2014.   Born in 1924 in Toronto, Ontario, Joyce was the dearly loved wife of the late John Alexander ""Jack"" McRae (1922-1993) and beloved mother and mother-in-law of her son Robert and his wife Karen (predeceased) and her son Paul and his wife Maria.  She was a long-time resident of Sudbury, having lived in Montreal and Ottawa as well.  Joyce was the daughter of Ernest and Lily Mae (nee Seagriff) Walters, both predeceased, and a dear sister of Dorothy Archer and Bette Reimer (both predeceased).  Joyce will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.  Joyce was an avid golfer and was the 9-hole champion at the Idylwylde Golf & Country Club.  She enjoyed her backyard oasis, soaking up the sun and swimming in the summer months, including hosting her legendary “Pool Parties”.  Joyce’s hobbies included reading, her beloved bridge clubs and filling out crossword puzzles using a pen.  She loved her pet Schnauzer dogs and could often be seen zipping around town in her Mustang sports car. A Celebration of Joyce’s Life will be held at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St. Sudbury on Saturday, December 20th, 2014 at 11:30 a.m.  Friends may call after 10:30 a.m. Saturday In memory of Joyce and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Sudbury SPCA would be appreciated. Joyce will be sadly missed and will remain in our hearts forever.
