In loving memory of Lester Andrew Manitowabi April 2, 1953 to December 18, 2014 Weesqueech Nini Of Wiikwemkong Unceded Territory who passed into the spirit world on Thursday December 18, 2014 at the age of 61 years. Lester is survived by his loving children Leslie Manitowabi-Recollet (Aaron), Pamela Iris Manitowabi (Derek), Christopher Manitowabi (Larissa), JonRoss Manitowabi (Shelly) and their mother Tish, and daughter Sophie Shigwadja. Granddaughters Rory, Cassidy, Amelia and grandsons Landon, Luca and Jeremy. Special friend of Audrey Shawongonabe and her family. Godfather to Erin, Diane, Lyndon, Maxine, Cody, and Galen. Special care taker of family dog Cash. Dear son of Andrew Manitowabi (Veronica Jacko) and the late Josephine (nee Green) and special son-in-law to the late Nancy and Philip Recollet. Dear brother to James, Jennifer Manitowabi of Wikwemikong, Sharon Manitowabi from Thunder Bay, Judy Manitowabi and Walter Manitowabi (Marcia) from North Bay, Erin Morrison (Blair) from Sudbury, and the late Linda Manitowabi, Ross Manitowabi and Melvin Farrell Manitowabi. Special brother to Bruce Eshkawkogan, Gary Lafontaine and Sandra Peltier. Lester will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Lester was a partner in the family business, Andrew Manitowabi Group a.k.a Andy’s of Wiky. His extended family, the 40 plus staff at Andy’s will miss his leadership and friendship dearly. Lester loved hockey, fishing, golfing and boating. His special place was Heywood Island. His sense of humour and gift of story-telling will be missed. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren. Resting at St. Ignatius Church, Buzwah Friends May Call Thursday December 18th, 2014 after 5pm Funeral Mass in Holy Cross Mission Wikwemikong, ON Saturday December 20th, 2014 at 11 AM In lieu of flowers donations to the Health Sciences North Foundation or Wikwemikong Parents Minor Sports Association would be greatly appreciated.
