He will be missed by many longtime friends. Benoît suffered a stroke in 2006 and needed constant care. A sincere thank you to Diane Kolasa who became a part of our family. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to his sister-in-law Geneviève and brother-in-law Thaddée Szymczak who were always there in times of need. Thank you also to the dedicated staff of the first and second floor Lodge at Pioneer Manor. Benoît was a kind, adventurous, generous, and good humoured man who impacted the lives of many. At age 22, he charmingly convinced his young bride to leave their home country of France to settle in Sudbury where they raised their two daughters. Benoît had a strong faith, practiced the teachings of Jesus Christ and found his passion in helping others. He was a committed and active member devoted helping his brothers of Local 6500 USWA at INCO. During this retirement year his home became a showcase for his love of gardening. He was a proud Canadian who enjoyed the great outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping. STO LAT! He lived his life for his family. Bocce ball, outings/excursions, Christmas, “prendre un petit coup” and family meals will never be the same without our beloved Benoît.
