In loving memory of Donald “Don” Harvey Knutson, who passed away at Health Sciences North in Sudbury on Wednesday, March 25th, 2015 at the age of 90. Don is predeceased by his parents Carl and Ella Knutson of Saskatchewan and his sisters Clarice Jahr and Eileen Mathiason and her husband King. He is survived by his brother Ellis Knutson of Saskatchewan and brother in law Don Jahr of Minnesota. Beloved husband of the late Gertrude Alice Knutson (nee Poysor). Loving father of Robert Knutson (Carla) of Val Caron and Terrance Knutson of Ottawa. Cherished grandfather to Matthew Knutson (wife Michelle) of Hanmer and David Knutson (friend Meagan) of Lively, and great grandfather to Nathan Knutson of Hanmer. As an INCO employee for over 30 years, Don spent many of those as a Shaft Inspector until he retired. Many happy times were spent with family and friends at his cottage, “Shady Nook”, on Nepewassi Lake. He was an avid reader, a keen Toronto Blue Jays baseball fan, and fond of his Samoyed dogs Windy, Ben, and Thumper. Don loved snowmobiling, boating, water skiing, listening to country music, flower gardening, and repairing small motors. He was recognized by the Canadian Red Cross Society for his contribution of over 75 blood donations. Don will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew him. Donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Resting at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch Street, Sudbury (Friends may call 4-8pm Tuesday and after 10am Wednesday). Funeral Service in the R. J. Barnard Chapel Wednesday, April 1st, 2015 at 11am. Interment in the family plot at the Civic Memorial Cemetery.
